In 2024, TikTok (along with its Chinese counterpart Douyin) made history by becoming the first non-gaming app to cross $6 billion in in-app purchase revenue.

This marks a 36.36% jump from the $4.4 billion it earned in 2023. Not only that, but TikTok also earned more than double the in-app revenue of any other app or game that year.

On a global scale, people spend 98 minutes on an average on TikTok. On the other hand, people in the USA spend 53.8 minutes per day on TikTok. 

A survey from 2023 shares that the teenagers in the USA spend an average of 1.5 hours on TikTok every day. Although this average data shows 1.5 hours/day, TikTok remains a major platform for teenagers and Gen Z.

Majority Of TikTok Creators Fall Between The 18 To 24 Age Group

Over 52.83% creators are aged between 18 and 24 years, making up half of the creators. 

On the other hand, 27.47% of TikTok creators are under 18.

TikTok Music App used to cost between  $5.99 to $18.99. But as of 2025, TikTok Music is no longer available. TikTok launched its music streaming service called TikTok Music, which was expected to compete with Spotify and Apple Music. This service was made available in 5 countries and was anticipated to be launched in other countries soon.
